Frequently asked questions
Is my video uploaded?
No. The video is decoded and converted to a GIF inside your browser; it never leaves your device.
How long can a GIF be?
Up to 600 frames, which is 40 seconds at 15 FPS. If your selection is longer, it is shortened automatically and a note tells you so.
Why is my GIF so large?
GIF stores every frame with a limited colour palette, so files grow quickly. Lower the width or FPS, trim the clip, or use the video compressor to make a small MP4 instead.
Which video formats work?
Anything your browser can play. MP4 (H.264) works everywhere, and WebM and MOV work in most browsers.
